Apartment-Ready Objects

WHAT TO DO (the short version):

Using your hacking program (IffPencil or IffSnooper) import Simlogical's Apartment Hack Patch (for objects) into any "Apartment ready" object (yes, overwrite) and Save. Nothing else needs to be done to convert it into an apartment hacked object

WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT

Simlogical.com developed a system that allows us to bestow ownership of objects to certain sims. With this system installed and by using specially hacked objects we can create apartment houses or simply control the flow of traffic in our single family homes (by creating private bathrooms, for instance) It is an extensive system and one that takes some getting used to but once learned is a wonderful boon to gameplay.

As mentioned objects must be specially hacked to work with this system and most items you download are not hacked this way. To help with this Simlogical provides a patch that you, the player can apply to any object you would like Apartment hacked. It's a pretty simple process but it's also one most people are unfamiliar with and so are uncomfortable performing. To make matters worst not ALL objects are apartment hacked that easily and it's hard for a non-hacker to tell the difference. Mac users have an additional problem. Sometimes another resource (the OBJF) needs to be edited which, as I understand it, is not possible in IffSnooper.

WHY THIS WORKS (the detailed version):

Applying the Simlogical Apartment Hack Patch consists of importing a single BHAV into your object and then opening other BHAVs and editing them so they refer to this new Apartment Hack one. It's that second part that scares people off.

So at Secret Society of Woobsha we've done that second part for you.

We have added our own single BHAV as a placeholder. It's a "dummy" BHAV that does not actually do anything. It has one line of code that reads "0 Equals? 0" (which translates to Does zero equal zero?). The rest of the code that needs to be edited for Apartment hacking is edited but it all refers to this "placeholder" BHAV. This BHAV sits there quietly doing nothing at all and the object behaves normally.

Should you wish to Apartment hack the object you simply import the Simlogical Apartment Hack (for objects) patch into the object, overwrite and Save. You are done and the object is now an apartment hacked object.

Like all apartment hacked object now REQUIRES Simlogical's apartment hack system be installed to work properly. Remember that some configurations of the game will crash if you try to use Apartment hacked objects without having the apartment.far installed.

UN-APARTMENT HACKING OBJECTS

SSoW's UN-Apartment Patch can be applied to Apartment Hacked objects to convert them into "Apartment Ready" objects. This allows anyone to enjoy the unique sets and objects that some Sims Apartment Sites offer without having to install the system into your own game.

Any objects that create other apartment hacked objects (fridges and BBQ grills create food, for instance) would need the patch applied to ALL associated objects (the fridge or grill and *each* of the foods).
