Did you realize that magic items cannot be purchased from shop displays? They can only be purchased from NPC-run carts!! This was sorta-kinda awkward for the Magic Town Market Square I was building in my game so I came up with a way to sell magical reagents and dragon items from shops instead of carts. I expanded those displays into an entire shop set that includes some home business objects just in case you'd prefer your sim to be the shop owner.

You will need set what type of display each object should be when building your shop. Your 3 choices are:

  • A. Decorative Display - This lets you place displays back behind things without silly sims trying to get back there to browse or buy things from it. Useful for on both Home and Away lots
  • B. Family-owned Display - Family-owned shops are home business objects so generate an income for your Sim(s). As owners of the shop your Sims will not be able to purchase anything themselves. For home lots only.
  • C. Neighborhood Shop Display - Use this option if you want YOUR SIMS to be able to purchase reagents from the display. May be used on home lots (if a cash register is present)

Madame Macon's Magic Supplies Shoppe

The Macon's Magick Supplies shop combines "home business" hacks with normal shopping and decorative items making the displays perfect for any type of shop or a wizard's private workshop. Some of the neighborhood shop options are home enabled allowing you to purchase gifts, magazines, or reagents (!!) without leaving the home lot. In these cases a cash register is required. Alternatively your witch or wizard may own the shop themselves, generating an income in either magic coins or simoleons, depending on the displays they choose to set up.

The owner, Morganna Macon, is available as a customized cashier. While a cash register is not needed to run a family owned business, Mdme Macon brings color, atmosphere, and palm reading services to any residential lot she is placed on.

Morganna Macon's Magick Shoppe

This set includes, combines, and enhances the following hacks:

The Grab-n-Go Displays Hack - Home Business Objects - On residential lots these hacked displays can be used to create a family owned shop, generating an income for the residents by "selling" items to visiting Sims. No items are actually placed into the customer's inventory and no cash register is required for these "sales". After each use the display has a chance to encourage the visiting to cut the visit short and leave, especially if their motives are getting low.
The Magick Shop Grab-n-Go Displays sell magically themed products.

The N-in-1 Hack - Shows up in Buymode as a single object, but with each purchase the game will choose one of the various displays at random.

Selective Shop Displays - Neighborhood shop displays that sell specific purchases rather than an entire category.

Choose Your Display Type - New to SSoW - All of the displays include a fine tuning option allowing you to set how each display behaves individual on residential lot. This way you can choose whether you want them to be Grab-n-Go Displays, functioning displays that actually sell items to your Sims, or "deco" displays for use in a residence or in a small shop with tight corners you'd prefer customers stay out of. I, for instance, put displays behind my cashiers but do ot want customers heading back there to "browse". This option is not available on 'community' lots so you'll still need to be careful where you place displays there.)

The Magick Mood Hack - New to SSoW - The Magick Mood Hack reflects the overall mood of all of the visitors and residents (excludes animals). The color will change to a green tint when everyone is very happy or to a yellow tint when they are becoming unhappy while a reddish tint indicates they are all very unhappy indeed. This hack does not alter any Sim's moods, it simply monitors them. Think of it as a "plum bob" for the entire lot.

Functioning Magic Ingredients Shop Display!! with Magic Coin Grab-n-Go option

A SimiTone tester altered me to a "Missing Strings" error in the Reagents Display (Thanks!!) hat made it impossible to switch from a normal shop display to a "Family Owned" or "Decorative" one. I've disabled the download for now since I have decided I'd probably like to make a few additional changes to the object. It'll be back when the site finally gets updated (andthis whole page is replaced)

Grab-n-Go Magick Display

NEW HACK!
The 6-in-1 Reagent Displays with MagiCoin Grab-n-Go is a functioning display on location lots selling (common) magical ingredients for spells and charms (required inventory tokens included in zip). Flowers and Honey are also available from the appropriate display stands. For added flavor and ambiance, Townies will also appear make purchases. On residential lots your sims will be able to choose what type of display this should be, one that allows your Family to purchase goods, a grab-n-go, or a simple decorative item.

This version of the grab-n-go hack collects MagiCoins instead of generating an income for the family by "selling" reagents to visiting Stranges and magic users. Any magical family member (one carrying a wand) can then collect the MagiCoins from the displays.

This display may be placed on the floor or a surface. MM needed for props.

Magick Shop Grab-n-Go + UL Seed Displays - Home Business Objects - On residential lots these displays act like normal grab-n-go displays (described above) but on location lots your Sim will have the option of purchasing Unleashed's Garden Seeds. No EP is required to place and to use these displays the "Buy [Seeds]" options wont show up unless Unleashed is installed.

The Magick Shop Grab-n-Go Displays - Home Business Objects - sales displays that sell magical items to visiting Sims (please note that no items are actually placed in the Sims' inventory) on Residential lots, generating income for the family. No cash register is required. Sims with wands (who will be charged less than non-magic-users) are more inclined to make this their final purchase and may head on home, making room for more customers. On Location lots this display stand provides decoration and ambiance as Townies still appear to make purchases even though your Sims cannot. This display may be placed on the floor or a surface.
